Google is now, more than ever before, digging out those who over SEO their websites. In fact overly optimized web pages will, sooner or later get you in trouble with Big G, noticeably in your search results also known as SERPS. Be cautious because Google isn't keeping it a secret either, having recently announced it will bergin to penalize websites that over indulge in optimization methods.

How Not To Over SEO

Are you putting your feet up, relaxing whilst all around you panic?. It amazes me that despite the emails I receive and telephone conversations about this, business owners are watching and waiting for this penalty to hit them before they count the real cost, for goodness sake!! , Simple low cost changes to our websites or get into real trouble ought to be a 'no brainer' but it isn't.

 

Personally I believe that some of the most likely candidates to be penalized by Google's over-optimization penalty are not those that are trying to be clever, but have left it to website designers to fill in the blanks – in expectation of the client putting in the right information.

Will It Affect You?

Let me tell you now that I'm not going to be blaze and advocate this this is just Google having a tantrum. It is even making me nervous.
I'm going to list the areas that I believe will be the basis of this over SEO penalty. I have no insideer information nor do I know which one Google is going to hit on at any given time.
What I am sure about it that Google will target a particular theme, so it won't scan your website looking for any number of issues, it will focus on one at a time.
If I am right it means that an over SEO'd website will be hit more than once.
